FAQ
Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know before you order.
Will this work on my windows?
Yes, as long as it's flat glass. Measure width and height of the pane and choose the closest kit size — the film ships oversized so you can trim to fit.
Does it work on tinted or textured glass?
It applies best to clear, flat glass. On tinted or heavily textured glass the frosted effect and adhesion may look or behave differently, so results can vary.
Can I use it on curved or bay windows?
The film is designed for flat panes. It won't stretch cleanly over curved glass, so we don't recommend it for bay or curved windows.
Which kit size do I need?
Starter Kit suits a single standard window, Home Kit covers a few windows in one room, and Family Pack is built for whole-home coverage. Measure your panes first if you're unsure.
What's the difference between Blue and Silver?
Both give the same daytime privacy and UV blocking — the difference is purely the tint, so pick whichever matches your window frame or personal style.
Is it a one-way mirror at night too?
No — the film only gives you privacy during the day, when it's brighter outside than in. After dark, with lights on indoors, people outside can see in, just like ordinary glass. We recommend curtains or blinds for nighttime privacy.
How long does it take to install?
About 15–20 minutes per pane, using just water and the included squeegee card. No tools or experience required.
What tools do I need to apply it?
Just water, a spray bottle (or damp cloth), and household scissors to trim. The squeegee card is included in every kit.
Can I install it myself, or do I need help?
It's designed as a solo DIY job. For very large panes, having a second pair of hands makes it easier to keep the film straight while pressing it down.
What if I cut it wrong?
The film ships oversized on purpose, so there's room for error. Measure twice, cut slightly larger than the pane, then trim the excess after it's applied.
Do I need to clean the window first?
Yes — a clean, dust-free pane helps the film sit flat without bubbles. Wipe the glass down and let it dry before applying.
Will there be air bubbles after I apply it?
Small bubbles during application are normal and squeegee out easily while the surface is still wet. Most settle completely within a day or two.
How much daytime privacy does it actually give?
The frosted pattern blocks around 95% of direct sightlines from outside during daylight hours, while your room stays bright.
Will my room get darker once it's applied?
No — the frosted finish is designed to diffuse light rather than block it, so natural light still comes through even with the film on.
Does it block UV rays?
Yes, it cuts around 98% of UV rays, which helps protect furniture, flooring, and fabric near the window from fading.
Can people still see silhouettes or movement?
Vague shapes and movement can sometimes be visible up close, especially in bright conditions, but the frosted pattern blocks clear sightlines and detail.
Will it damage my window or leave residue?
No. It holds by static cling alone — no glue or adhesive. It comes off clean and can even be reused on another window.
How long does the film last?
It's built to hold its finish through repeated sun exposure, humidity, and years of daily use with normal care.
How do I clean windows with the film applied?
A soft cloth with water or a mild, ammonia-free cleaner works best. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or sharp tools near the edges.
Will it yellow or fade over time?
It's designed to resist yellowing and fading under normal sun exposure, though like any window treatment, extreme heat over many years may cause gradual wear.
Can I remove it if I move out?
Yes — it peels off by hand with no marks left behind, which makes it landlord- and renter-friendly.
Can I reuse the film on a different window?
In many cases yes, as long as it's removed carefully and the new pane is a similar or larger size. Reused film may not sit as perfectly flat as a first application.
